Schedule
We start at the same time as the Berlinale on Thursday, 13 February on the Boulevard of Stars and celebrate on Saturday, 22 February the awarding of the Golden Taxi to the best taxi film.
Under the motto ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’, we protest against the takeover of the city by platform capitalists and exploiters. At a workshop on Thursday, 20 February, we will plan the radical re-conquest of Berlin.
One world, stories, places and perspectives
From 1640 submissions, we have selected 5 feature films and 63 short films that show encounters in taxis and tell of life, love and hate. Gods and demons are summoned and the morals of humanoid robots are put to the test. There are ‘normal’ and ‘weird’ stories. Everything takes place in the taxi, is about the taxi and everything around the taxi.
At the Taxi Film Festival, we show the background of the globalised taxi industry. With the attack of international corporations on small and medium-sized companies, the livelihoods of millions of self-employed and dependent employees are being destroyed.
We travel to Brazil, China, Ecuador, France, Greece, Great Britain, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Canada, Croatia, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Togo, Hungary, the USA and Uzbekistan.
A world trip is not enough. We undertake time travel to the walled city of West Berlin, the robotic future and the darkest Middle Ages.
Taxifilmfest 2025 - an international festival
We are opening parts of the programme to the general public, but we will remain a neighbourhood cinema for friends and colleagues.
On Saturday, 8 February, we will publish the programme here.
Welcome!
